Michael Bloomberg was born on February 14, 1942 and is a businessman, politician, philanthropist, and author. Bloomberg is the majority owner as well as cofounder of Bloomberg L.P and was the mayor of New York City from 2002 to 2013. Bloomberg was a candidate in the 2020 Democratic presidential primaries. In 2019 he was ranked by Forbes as the 9th richest person in the world. Bloomberg began his career at the brokerage Salomon Brothers before starting his own company in 1981.
