Poe Dameron is the fictional resistance commander of the starfighter corps in the Star Wars movies and extended franchise. He is BB-8’s owner, and he helps Finn escape life as a Storm Trooper, inadvertently recruiting him (and by extension Rey) to the resistance cause. Known for his ‘punch first, ask questions later’ attitude, he’s an important solider in the fight for the galaxy’s freedom, even if he’s prone to rushing into situations over his head. A talented pilot and strategist, it is his attack that destroys the Starkiller Base, but he is also not above leading a coup if it’s what he believes is best for the resistance.
