Luke Skywalker

Illustrations of Luke Skywalker in various poses with a lightsaber

Luke Skywalker is a fictional Jedi in the Star Wars movies and their extended franchise. Leia’s brother, and Padmé and Anakin’s son, he is raised by his aunt and uncle on a moisture farm on Tatooine but always dreams of more. When his uncle purchases R2-D2 and C-3PO, Luke accidentally intercepts a message meant for Obi-Wan Kenobi. After the stormtroopers trace R2-D2 to Luke’s aunt and uncle and murder them, Luke is thrown into an intergalactic civil war. Like the rest of his family, he is force-sensitive and, after a crash course in Jedi basics from Yoda, a talented fighter.
