Mace Windu is a fictional Jedi Master the Star Wars movies and extended franchise. A traditionalist, Mace works to uphold the Jedi Order’s traditions and was at the forefront of the Jedi Council’s decision to not allow Anakin to be trained as a Jedi, a decision later overturned in light of Qui-Gon’s dying request. His steadfast faith in Jedi tradition becomes his undoing as it blinds him to the malicious intentions of other Jedi such as Count Dooku. He attempts to overthrow Palpatine, but is killed in the ensuing battle. Mace Windu is known for his iconic amethyst bladed lightsaber.
