Also known as Ben Kenobi, Obi-Wan Kenobi is the fictional mentor and Jedi master In the Star Wars movies and their extended franchise. Once Anakin Skywalker’s friend and Jedi trainer, after Anakin’s fall to the dark side and rise as Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi became a hermit on Tatooine. He lives in solitude near the farm where Luke grows up, and keeps a watchful eye over him until Luke is ready to fulfill his destiny. Obi-Wan is Luke Skywalker’s first introduction to the ways of the force, including giving Luke his father’s lightsaber. Even after his death, Obi-Wan’s spirit continues to guide Luke.
