Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo is a fictional Vice Admiral in the Resistance in the Star Wars movies and extended franchise. She is General Leia’s long time friend and mentee. After the command bridge is wiped out in a lethal blow from the First Order, the chain of command leaves Holdo in charge of the resistance until General Leia recovers. She is best known for her sacrifice at the end of The Last Jedi, when she launches the resistance Star Cruiser into the First Order fleet at light speed, giving the rest of the resistance time to escape to the planet Crait.
