Seated and standing side elevation drawings of the Havanese dog breed

Also known as a Havana Silk Dog, the Havanese is a joyful and peppy member of the toy group and is the only dog breed native to Cuba. Small but sturdy in stature, the Havanese has an average weight ranging from seven to fourteen pounds and is popular for its adaptable, people-pleasing nature. The Havanese has a distinctively long, silky coat that can be styled in a variety of ways, with many owners opting to cord the coat, similar to that of a Puli Dog. A true companion dog, the Havanese thrives in social environments, preferring to brave the chaos of the city over the solitude of the great outdoors.

Dogs are domesticated mammals of the Carnivora order. Descendants of wolves, dogs are the first animals to have been domesticated by humans. Dogs are bred for particular physical and emotional characteristics and are often referred to as ‘man’s best friend’ referring to their high degree of loyalty.
