Description
Description

A member of the working group, the Samoyed is a large, profoundly fluffy dog renowned for its gentle temperament and sweet smile. A native to northwest Russia and western Siberia, the Samoyed was bred to endure temperatures of minus-60 degrees and herd reindeer. These harsh circumstances resulted in their shocking, snowball-like appearance that makes them impervious to the cold. A highly energetic breed, the Samoyed’s pack instincts give way to a temperament similar to the Siberian Husky—outgoing, mischievous, and exceptionally friendly. Did you know that their widely-adored smile is the result of a critical adaptation that prevents them from drooling icicles in freezing temperatures?
