Peacock Pose is an advanced arm balance that helps the forearms, wrist, back, and legs become stronger. Peacock pose also helps to tone the abs and can be build up to with some preparatory postures such as Four-Limed Staff Pose, or a seated version of Foot Behind the Head pose. Some follow up postures include Downward Facing Dog, Child’s Pose and Shoulder Pressing Pose.

It takes a good amount of practice to reach the full expression of Peacock Pose, posture that help build shoulder and core strength will be key to the success of this posture. To do this the Yogi must balance on two hands with the arms at a 90 degree angle, fingers towards the feet, and the body balancing, horizontal to the mat. Yogi’s with wrist issues use caution.
